Welcome to West Texas Leather! My name is Jennifer Weaver, and I have personally designed and created all the items you see in our store. After exploring many artistic pursuits over the years, I found the greatest opportunity for artistic expression in leather. I love art that is functional, practical, and that contributes beauty to our everyday lives. I love life and am grateful to the animals who provide our food, and it is out of respect and gratitude for them that I put my best effort into every project, every time. For the same reason, I have carefully developed my construction techniques over the years to almost eliminate waste entirely.

Regarding the design names, I find inspiration in ordinary people who display extraordinary strength, courage, and compassion in situations that are sometimes tragic, sometimes mundane. I have been blessed to spend my entire life in Texas, surrounded by amazing women who display these qualities with grace and ease. If you have ever spent any time with Texas women, you will understand that they are something special. In honor of all of them, I have chosen to name all my designs for strong Texas women whose stories are told throughout this website.

In 2025, I fell in love with a new art form: jewelry making. The new website and title reflects this new additional product line. From my grandmothers, I learned the importance of having signature pieces of jewelry, as well as the transformative effect a change in jewelry can have on a single outfit. I love to be surrounded by elegant and pretty things and to make elegant and pretty things available to others. I believe that details matter, and that people will notice your bookmark, keyring, wallet, journal, etc., and respond accordingly. I love how the right accessory can pull together your entire look.
